BRAMLEY HOUSE

The Bramley
House Story

My parents had spent a lifetime on our family farm, so persuading my father to retire at 82 was no small task. My mother, a retired nurse and spirited social butterfly, needed no convincing. Famous for her apple tarts, she smiled when she spotted a Bramley apple tree in the 17th-century walled garden — it felt like a sign. Ten months later, Bramley House was built within the walled garden and at its heart stands the Bramley apple tree — the inspiration for the home’s name and spirit. Rooted in the promise of apple tarts and fresh beginnings, it soon became a place where family and friends gathered,  and lasting memories were made. Today, guests can enjoy apple tart–making classes at Bramley House, using Colette’s cherished recipe — a sweet tradition that continues to celebrate her love of home, family, and hospitality

history

The 17th-century walled garden still surrounds the house with its quiet grace — a sanctuary of history and tranquillity. At its heart stands the Bramley apple tree, the inspiration for the home’s name and spirit. Whether it’s a sunny afternoon, a barbecue with laughter, a glass of wine at dusk, or a soft-lit evening beneath the stars, there’s always a perfect spot to unwind.
